No other nation had declared, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights" -- rights that no king or government could take away. In "A City Upon a Hill," we see that throughout our history, the United States has risen to great challenges -- sometimes out of necessity but often out of the determination to create a better future. Through interviews with historians, politicians, and other experts, we understand why America is indeed an exceptional nation.
